Workshops and Mindfulness training for education

Cultivate focus, resilience and compassion with nature based mindfulness

The Challenge

A  2020 study of UK children aged between 5 - 16  showed that, alarmingly, one in six had a mental health issue. It also found that a massive three quarters of life-long mental health problems begin before the age of 25.

Simply spending time in nature has a scientifically proven effect on children's mental and physical health, yet more and more children are spending less time outdoors due to increased use of technology and increased urbanisation of our countryside.

We must make a conscious effort to encourage our children outside in nature and empower them to find peace in themselves.

The Solution

Mindfulness is a skill that can easily be developed by children and adolescents. When practiced it can lead to increased focus, attention, self-control and compassion, as well as improved sleep and an improved sense of self.  The more we practice mindfulness the more accessible it becomes in times of challenge and stress.

Mindful By Nature teaches simple-to-learn mindfulness techniques in natural settings, whether that's on a mindfulness hike in the hills or simply utilising or developing a green space in a nursery or school playground.

The combination of physical movement, mindfulness and presence in nature enhances the benefits of each, leading to increased life satisfaction, creativity, focus, attention and productivity when back in the classroom.

Mindful techniques can be used by the children, young people and staff continuously, through all aspects of their life leading to increased personal resilience and self-determination.

Mindful By Nature's services are suitable for reception class upwards, always adapted to suit specific ages and needs.
